"Internal politics are better than nothing!"

20 Pledges in 20 days

Here at WSotE we made some big claims in our Election Flyer.

In order to keep the public informed, we're going to keep track of which Pledges are being worked on, and which have been buried at sea…

Just so that we keep things honest, we haven't told our councillors which pledge we're going to do each day. That would be cheating!

Without further ado…

Picture of a number 12 with MAYBE stamped on it.Pledge 12 - "Review of all existing tender processes and subcontracted works to cut waste."

Will WSotE keep their promise to cut waste?

Probably not, but we can always hope…

Number 13 with a FAIL stamped on itPledge 13 - "Get rid of the 'closed shop' culture - reduce the number of Winsford Town Council meetings from 62 down to 12 plus an AGM."

WSotE Promised they would cut the number of council meetings. But what does this mean?

Did WSotE actually consider the wider implications of this pledge when they let Cllr Boone write it for them? We think not.

Number 20 with FAIL stamped on itPledge 20 - "Provide a one-stop-shop facility for members of our community."

What is Cllr Boone's mysterious “One stop shop”?

We don't know either. Sorry - Although we can reveal that this one was always going to be a non-starter…

Number 10 with a FAIL stamped on itPledge 10 - "Apply pressure to CW&C to do a better job of fixing potholes."

Follow the voyage of the HMS Pothole…

Number 1 with a question mark stamped on itPledge 18 - "Provide a more democratic alternative to the current political tribalism."

A delve into the mysterious workings of the mind of King Mayor Ernie Welch, and the fictional nonsense that makes up the basis for this perniciously worded commitment.

Number 4 with a question mark stamped on itPledge 11 - "Ensure all our Councillors take a direct advocacy role on behalf of residents suffering long term neighbourhood crime and anti-social behaviour."

WSotE councillors perform no actual activism for victims, but do (inconsistently) go wild chasing down kids on Facebook.

If anyone actually receives any actual help from WSotE, please do let us know on our Facebook page!

Number 1 with a question mark stamped on itPledge 1 - "Make Winsford's budgets go further by bringing more money back into the town".

Slightly brighter news for the town, as WSotE haven't completely precluded any possibility of their making good on this promise…

…yet!

Number 4 with a question mark stamped on itPledge 4 - "Fix Labour's failed Winsford Neighbourhood Plan to ensure income owing to Winsford comes back to be spent in Winsford."

WSotE councillors promised to review the Neighbourhood Plan, but why?

It's been almost 6 months now, so surely they must have big developments to present to the waiting Winsford public!

Number 6 with FAIL stamped on itPledge 6 - "Push for an urgent review of the Guild Hall project".

In which WSotE, er, don't…

Number 14 with FAIL stamped on itPledge 14 - "Relocate Town Council meetings from Wyvern House to a more affordable, friendly venue making a saving of over 20k per year, improving trust and accountability.".

Can WSotE save the town £20,000 a year?

We crunch the numbers and find out! In which WSotE, er, don't…
